I have my own quilting business out of my house. And Friday, I was working. Out of the blue, a name popped into my head. It was the name of one of our dear ladies who has been attending Tuesday morning bible study for 20 years or so. Her name is Ida.
(The background on this is - Ida had been in poor health and had stopped coming to bible study about 2 years ago. Then in July, her cousin Peggy called me to let me know that Ida was in a nursing home. I passed the info off to to the Tuesday morning leader for her to go visit Ida.)
So I hear in my head "Go see Ida - NOW". It wasn't an audible voice. But it very clearly was a voice in my head. A very firm - out of the blue - thought. I honestly hadn't really thought of Ida since July.
Well, I just did another minute of quilting stuff and again, I very clearly heard "Go see Ida - NOW!". So I stopped everything I was doing, jumped in the car and found the nursing home where I thought she was staying. She was there and I ended up spending 1 1/2 hours with her. It was so good seeing her.
It turns out that her cousin Peggy had just passed away a few days ago and Ida was very lonely. Elizabeth and her cousin talked most every day. But Ida was grieving the loss of her cousin and best friend.
So Ida says to me "tell me the story again of why you're here.". She just couldn't believe that I would come just to see her. That I wasn't just passing by or on my way to do something else. So she says "What's God's Word for me today?" I told her, that I didn't have a specific word - that God just told me to come to her. But it could be that God wanted me there to show Ida that there was someone else still here that loved her and that she wasn't alone.
